2004 Fair Labor Standards Act Overtime Regulations
Changes Go Into Effect August 23

New Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) Regulations which determine whether an employee is exempt or non-exempt for purposes of overtime become effective on August 23, 2004.  These regulations, which are referred to as the White Collar Exemptions, make substantial changes in the salary and duty criteria used in determining whether executive, administrative, professional, outside sales, and computer job classifications qualify as exempt under the FLSA.
