Global Competition

The IBA’s work to reform global competition policy took a major step forward with the formation of the Global Competition Network (GCN). Competition agency heads from the European Commission, the US Department of Justice, Canada, Italy and Mexico publicly endorsed the initiative. The GCN expects to hold its first meeting in Italy next spring. It will focus on key areas such as merger process convergence.

The IBA will also shortly launch a new website to provide the first truly comprehensive resource site of its kind for competition lawyers, with access to the full texts of the world’s competition laws, and links to competition authorities and other relevant sites.
