Tyco – Back From the Brink
The March issue of International Bar News includes an interview with Bill Lytton,
Tyco's General Counsel. Lytton found that chaos reigned on his arrival at
Tyco soon after it hit the headlines and has spent the last year-and-a-half helping
to rebuild its shattered image. The legal team in particular has warranted special
attention, suffering from a lack of centralised control. It's been a difficult

First HRI Training Programme for Iraq Successfully Completed
In Dubai, 51 Iraqi jurists-including the Chief Justice, Chief Prosecutor,
and President of the Bar Association-have participated in the first in
a series of training courses conducted in international human rights law offered
by the International Bar Association (IBA) under the auspices of the International
Legal Assistance Consortium (ILAC).

IBA Undertakes Restructuring
Since 2000, the Association has been involved in a detailed review of its structure. A new Constitution was approved by the IBA at its Annual Conference in Durban 2002 and to comply with the new Constitution, some changes will be made to the structure of the Association.
