International Bar Association seeks ‘Fellows’ for the International Criminal Tribunal of the former Yugoslavia
The IBA has been awarded a grant in the amount of $250,000 from the Open Society Institute (OSI). This grant will support the recruitment and placement of four IBA ‘fellows’ to work at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) during the next year.

German Lawyers Hold Congress, Create Information Experts Panel
Hamburg, Germany, known as ‘the gateway to the world’ was the site of this year’s Deutscher Anwaltstag, or German Lawyers Day. The annual two-day congress is organised by the German lawyer’s association Deutscher Anwaltverein (DAV), an IBA member organisation. The May event brought together some 1500 lawyers from all German federal states to discuss issues such as information research and marketing.
