On September 25, 2008, the inaugural meeting of the Meritas Canada Insolvency and Restructuring Group, which has been holding monthly conference calls since it was established in 2007, took place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Lawyers in attendance represented nine Meritas affiliate firms from the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec and Nova Scotia.

Items on the agenda for the meeting included marketing the group, technical developments in each region, and the establishment of a Meritas Canada Insolvency and Restructuring Group web site similar to that established by the Meritas Canada Tax Group.
