Medical Group Denied Charitable Contribution Deduction
The Tax Court has denied charitable deductions for a group of doctors who formed a medical practice, as their transfer of goodwill had adequate consideration and did not clearly exceed the benefits received in return; no penalties were imposed because the deductions were denied on grounds other than those which formed the basis for the penalty. Confidentiality Agreement for Drug Reps
Since drug reps are not business Associates as defined by HIPAA, the extensive Business Associate agreement is not appropriate (most of the companies will not let reps sign these anyway). However treat the reps similar to employees by having them sign the following confidentiality agreement which you can keep on file
